Anna Kendrick was already a Tony-nominated actress as a child when she was cast for the leading role in "Twilight." Between the "Twilight" filming she also shot five other projects, including "Up in the Air". The film was awarded an Oscar for her role as George Clooney in that film. Since her debut, she's played in numerous critically and commercially film projects that have been successful, such as "Scott Pilgrim Vs. America." Anna Cook Kendrick was conceived in Portland, Maine, on the 9th August 1985. Her mother worked as an accountant, while her father taught of history. Anna was raised by her older brother Michael, an actor, who was later an actor. Anna Kendrick started auditioning for Broadway shows when she was a teen at Deering High School, Portland. When she was only 12 the first time she had a major theatre performance was High Society. Despite the age of 12 years old, her performance was recognized with numerous awards. In 2003, she was acting as a second-in-command in A Little Night Music. At age 15 she was the first actress to make her debut on film at Camp that same year. Kendrick was nominated for her performance, as well as for Rocket Science 2007, which she appeared in at the age of fifteen.
