Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is a popular American performer and actress. Born and raised in Huntington Woods Michigan as the daughter of Lorelei Frygier who was a nurse as well as Tom Bell - a television director - she is an American actor and singer. She is the daughter of a Polish and her father German, English Irish and Scottish. Kristen was already a talented performer from a young age. In 1992, she was awarded her first acting role in her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell received an agent who was appointed by her mother at the age of 13 and was cast as a model for advertisements on television and newspapers. Also, she began acting lessons in private at that time. Bell appeared as a guest in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998 as an uncredited actor. Bell was a student at Shrine Catholic High School and was part of music as well as the drama club. In her school's show of The Wizard of Oz, Bell won the role of Dorothy. Following graduation, Bell made the move to New York City to attend the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts in which she learned about musical theatre. in 2001 Bell quit her university in order to portray the character as Becky as Becky in Tom Sawyer. In 2001, it was also when Bell's debut appearance was in a credited film, Pootie Tang (2002). The scene she appeared in was cut and only the credits display her. Bell played featured in the Broadway revival of The Crucible starring Liam Neeson and Angela Bettis.
